"Adult Contemporary" Record Out Soon on Redirection

Hello All.

As many of you know, I write, record, and produce albums of solo material that is entirely unaffiliated with any of the group music projects that I am currently participating in. Usually, the pace is one record a year for the past 8 years of so, and this year is no different. The new record is entitled Adult Contemporary, and select tracks from the album are online now on my myspace page (www.myspace.com/reedburnam). The album contains 15 tracks, all recorded via digital format on my PC. As usual, the content varies aestethically and is simple by design. All reproduction is done by hand, and are hand labeled.

I think that after a couple of weeks of noodling around with the songs (the bulk of which were recorded in December and January of 07-08), the album is about as OK as it's going to get. That being said, I should have some preliminary copies available before I head off to South Asia. As usual, they are available either directly from my hand or by mail. Please email me at my contact address rburnam@hotmail.com or get ahold of me through myspace if you are interested. If I decide to charge anything at all for the recordings, it will be to the tune of $2 or so, just enough to cover the materials used in reproduction. I'm a firm believer in the ethic of frugality.

I also have back copies of the Dematerialization (Best of 2004), To the Gates, Some Black Plague History (Best of 2005), and Australia albums available. The Another Switchback and Dancing Lessons albums are undergoing renovations, and will not be available for the time being. Gathering Places and Watering Holes, Spaces Inbetween, Mindless Apparatus, Grey Window, and End of the Dark Ages are permanently out of print. I may eventually put out a printed catalogue, if only to keep all this stuff straight in my own head.

Thanks again, and continue to look out for further Redirection releases in the near future.

Pre-Departure Statement

Hello friends.

I have resurrected this blog post for the purpose of documenting a three-month excursion to South Asia over summer 2008. This blog will still be used to refer to many things Redirection Records, but will also be a travel log during this time period. To friends and family stopping by for the first time: hello and welcome. I hope you continue to do so in the future.

Given the ready availability of internet cafes in cities and towns worldwide, it can be easier to reach out and touch those back home via the wonders of electronic communique rather than by traditional phone lines these days. And, more importantly, it is by far a cheaper method of communication, as most internet cafes charge only slight fees for thier services. As such, stay tuned to what's going on with me overseas by putting this web address into your favorites listing and checking back periodically to see what's been up. I hope to have time to chronicle much of my travel experiences, from jetlag to food poisoning and beyond.

For now, my departure date is June 12th. I will be flying out of NYC to London, with a short layover before my flight to New Delhi. On the ground in New Delhi, I will meet with AIIS program coordinators before taking the train down to Jaipur, in the state of Rajasthan. Please refer to the above map for any geographic clarification you might be in need of.
More soon. Stay tuned.
